Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is a very popular national park with its abundance of wildlife such as buffalos and elephants. Game drives and walking safaris are guided through the park by the park ranger. Mount Meru is part of the Park 4566 m above sea level. And trekking is within three to four days with an overnight stay at the alpine huts of Miriakamba and Saddo. The Park covers an area of 137 sq. km. The park has very unique scenery that including the montane forest, Momela Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, and the rocky Mount Meru.

Arusha National Park Wildlife.

Animal species that can be found in this park are Zebras, Giraffe, Buffaloes, Elephants, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Baboons, Velvet Monkeys, Red Forest Duikers. Above all the fascinating Abyssinian black and white Colobus monkeys, which are found in this park only. More than 400 bird species have been verified in the park. That includes Flamingos and other Eurasian migrants, which can be seen between October and April. In addition, the Arusha National Park tour is throughout the year regardless of the rain season of April and May.

Best time to climb Mt Meru.

Months of June to February is the best time to climb but with some rains during November. December to February is the time where you can have a great view of Mt. Kilimanjaro from Meru. But the park can be visited throughout the year regardless of rain seasons.
